Marymount University junior Reed Scott and senior Katelyn
Fischer were named the Capital Athletic Conference men’s and
women’s players of the week, as announced by the league
office Jan. 21.
Scott led the Saints to a pair of victories, including
Marymount’s first CAC win of the season. He averaged 16
points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 53.5 percent
from the floor. He added three blocks and a pair of assists
and steals as well.
Opening the week with a win over Ferrum in non-conference
action, Scott led the Saints with 16 points and five
rebounds. He added another 16 points in a CAC win over
Frostburg State to go with eight rebounds.
Fischer led the Saints to an undefeated week with three
victories. She averaged 21.3 points, 6.0 assists and 4.6
steals per game. She shot 56.8 percent from the floor
including a 42.9 percent clip from three-point range and 86.7
percent from the free throw line.
Opening the week against Richard Stockton, Fischer scored 23
points to go with six assists and four steals. She added
another 18 points, seven assists and five steals as the
Saints closed out non-conference play against future CAC foe
Southern Virginia.
Wrapping up the week with a CAC victory against Frostburg
State, Fischer posted 23 points, five assists and five
steals.
