Catholic Charities’ Katie Walker appointed to CBN board

The Catholic Business Network of Northern Virginia (CBN-NV),
a faith-based business networking organizations, recently
appointed Katie Walker, communications director for Arlington
diocesan Catholic Charities, to its board of directors.
Walker will assume the board portfolio of vice president,
advertising and public relations, previously held by Bruce
Gemmill, CBN chairman and president.

“We are extremely pleased to have Katie as a member of our
board,” said Gemmill. “Her active community involvement, as
well as the depth of communications knowledge that she
brings, will ensure our brand is strengthened throughout the
Northern Virginia area.”

Walker also has served as communications director for
American Life League, the nation’s largest grassroots
Catholic pro-life organization.

A native of Cincinnati, Walker is the oldest of seven and
graduated cum laude from Northern Kentucky University in 2008
with a degree in journalism and political science. While in
college, she served as founding president of Northern Right
to Life and founding vice president of Students for Life of
Kentucky.

Before moving to Washington, D.C., in 2008, Katie served in
communications and fundraising for the Comboni Missionaries,
an institute of Catholic priests dedicated to the service of
the poorest of the poor.
