Mark Randall was appointed the new executive director for
institutional advancement for the Pontifical North American
College (PNAC) in Rome July 16.

Randall will oversee various operations of the PNAC in the
United States.

“Mark brings an impressive background of business acumen,
fundraising ability and passion for the Catholic Church,”
said Msgr. James Checchio, PNAC rector. “Given the recent
growth of the North American College, we are in need of
someone like Mark on our administrative team,” he said,
adding that this year’s enrollment of 255 seminarians is the
largest in many years.

Key initiatives for the executive director include the
expansion of the advancement efforts within the United States
for the PNAC, broadening the awareness of the college, and
growing the endowment and planned gift programs. Randall will
work directly with the board of governors, the council for
institutional advancement and rector while supervising the
PNAC staff based at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
headquarters in Washington.

Randall most recently served as vice president for
institutional advancement at Wyoming Catholic College in
Lander. During his tenure there he doubled the donor base,
grew the annual fund by 108 percent in three years, and
greatly expanded the marketing and communications strategies.
Prior to that position he served in a similar capacity at the
nation’s largest Newman ministry, St. John’s Catholic Newman
Center at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) where
he led a capital campaign to fund part of a $30 million
expansion and renovation of the Newman Center. Randall also
previously started a development program at a new Catholic
high school in Illinois and helped start two other for-profit
businesses.

Randall holds a certified fundraising executive credential,
has lectured on Catholic fundraising at national conferences
and dioceses, and serves on several boards including the
National Catholic Prayer Breakfast.

Randall said he is excited to be working with the PNAC. “The
North American College is an extraordinary institution,
producing outstanding priests, bishops and cardinals” he
said. “I am incredibly honored to have been asked to lead
their efforts here in the U.S. and to strengthen the
resources needed to fulfill their mission.”
