Ground was broken March 15 for the new concession stand at Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington. The 1600-sq. ft. structure will have restrooms and a warming kitchen for food.

“We’re thrilled that that we completed the permitting process on this important addition,” said Head of School Joseph Vorbach. “The construction was made possible by the generous infusion of donations by the athletic boosters.”

Father Gregory S.Thompson, chaplain, blessed the ground before soil was turned over to begin construction. Assisting with the groundbreaking were: Greg Wilson, current athletics boosters’ president; Myles Hudzick, a senior football and baseball player; Olivia Giaquinto, senior softball player; Karen Davis, past athletics boosters’ president; and alumni Mike Albrittain and Kerry Albrittain Williams.

The building is scheduled to be completed in September.
