Hope Dickson, a graduate of St. Thomas More Cathedral School in Arlington, received an out-of-this-world achievement for her accomplishments in science, technology, engineering and math.

Dickson was selected out of thousands of applications for the Student Enhancement in Earth and Space Science summer internship.

Dickson was inspired through her time at St. Thomas More, specifically by the satellite launch by the school in 2015. The program, held out of the University of Texas at Austin’s Center for Space Research and funded by NASA, allows students to conduct field investigations and collaborate with NASA-funded scientists and engineers. Dickson was to travel to Texas to conduct experiments, tour facilities and conduct research with fellow recipients July 8. She has served at WorkCamp with the St. Thomas More WorkCamp Team.
