Financial aid for DREAMers at Marymount University

Marymount University in Arlington is now partnering with TheDream.US National Scholarship program to provide financial support for immigrant youth attending the university, beginning this fall. The university joins more than 75 partner institutions assisting the program participants, or “DREAMers,” to graduate from college with career-ready degrees.

DREAMers are youths who immigrated to the United States without documentation. Because of their undocumented status, they receive limited state aid and are excluded from federal aid. The program supports around 5,000 students across the partner institutions, doling out up to $29,000 for first-year students and up to $14,500 for transfer students annually. In addition to the financial support, the partner institutions also assign a scholar advisor to work with the DREAMers, who are often first-generation college attendees, throughout their studies.

The application deadline is Feb. 28.
