The third annual Appaloosa Roots Music Festival is Sept. 1-3 in Front Royal. More than 25 bands will play throughout the weekend, including festival host Scythian, Eddie From Ohio, Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen, Six-String Soldiers and Humming House. Attendees can camp on-site or purchase day parking passes. Children under 12 are free and there will be children’s activities and concerts. Food and drink vendors will be open for all meals. A portion of the proceeds goes to charity, with the Little Sisters of the Poor, the Missionaries of Charity and Front Royal VFW Post 1860 all benefitting. Mass is available Sunday morning.
