Catholic-owned Triune Entertainment presents “The Prince of Egypt,” a stage adaption of the popular animated movie, in Warrenton March 6-22.
Journey through the wonders of ancient Egypt as Ramses and Moses, two young men raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.
Organizers describe the production as the show’s regional premiere in the Washington area and an epic musical of biblical proportions, featuring music and lyrics by Broadway legend Stephen Schwartz (“Wicked,” “Godspell”) and a book by Philip LaZebnik (“Mulan,” “Pocahontas”).
“I couldn’t be more pleased that a theatre company with the reputation of Triune Entertainment wants to do our show, and I’m eager to see the result,” LaZebnik said. “I’m sure it will be spectacular.”
Matt Moore directs the mainstage production with Cate Murray as music director and Christie Dubnansky as choreographer.
Moore, Murray and a dozen other cast and crew members are parishioners of either All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas, Holy Trinity Church in Gainesville or St. John the Evangelist Church in Warrenton.
