Bishop Michael F. Burbidge visited the headquarters of the U.S. Coast Guard in Washington Aug. 9, where he celebrated Mass and toured the offices.

He met with Admiral Linda L. Fagan, commandant of the Coast Guard and the first woman to lead any branch of the U.S. armed forces, and Father Daniel L. Mode, a diocesan priest serving as captain and chaplain of the Coast Guard.
