Varsity boys and girls basketball teams at Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington won tournaments over the Christmas holidays.
The boys team defeated St. John’s College High School in Washington 57-52 in the championship round to win the Beach Ball Classic Traditional Division title in Myrtle Beach, S.C., for the third year in a row Dec. 30.
The girls team defeated Mater Lakes Academy in Hialeah, Fla., 63-59 in the final game to earn the Girls American division title at the Holiday Basketball Classic Invitational in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Dec. 30.
