Blessed Sacrament School in Alexandria celebrated its annual Renaissance Day, a more than 30-year tradition for sixth-graders studying Spanish and French Renaissance history.
Leading up to the festival, students selected and researched the life of a Renaissance noble and created a personal code of arms. On Renaissance Day, the sixth-graders dressed in medieval garb and presented posters on the life and royal lineage of their noble.
The festival included a royal introduction of the French and Spanish courts, procession of flags and banquet.
