For 57 years, a 26-foot gold-leafed statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary has looked over Mount St. Mary’s University, the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes and people traveling on Route 15 near Emmitsburg.

VATICAN CITY — Although still hospitalized, Pope Francis has resumed working and celebrated Mass for his caregivers in the small chapel that is part of the suite of rooms reserved for the popes at Rome's Gemelli hospital, the Vatican press office said July 9.
