A thunderous match-winning spike from Bishop O’Connell senior Jocelyn Pye was the exclamation point on an incredible comeback to defeat the Academy of the Holy Cross in the WCAC Championship game Nov. 3 at Dufour Center at The Catholic University of America in Washington. Down 11 points earlier in the fourth set, the Knights roared back to win the match 27-25, 21-25, 25-11, 27-25.

BALTIMORE — The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops gathered for their fall plenary assembly in Baltimore, November 11-14.
The bishops began their plenary in prayer at the Baltimore Basilica, and as the public session of the assembly began, they sent a message to the Holy Father, followed by an address by Cardinal Christophe Pierre, U.S. papal nuncio. Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, and USCCB president, also addressed the bishops.

Synodality is something that needs to be experienced to make sense. Glimpses of headlines on the Synod on Synodality might lead the average Catholic to believe the church is becoming a democracy with no respect for tradition. It is neither of those things. It is a major step toward the main objective of the church: to love every person in the unique way they need to be loved just as Jesus did and God the father fulfills in his omnipresence.
