National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States, celebrated since 1974. The CSW theme, which is being used from 2021 through 2024, is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.”

Oakcrest School, an independent school for girls in grades 6-12 guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church and the spirituality of Opus Dei, has opened registration for its summer programs.

As this third sci-fi sequel — set 20 years after the last installment — opens, the computer whiz protagonist of the series (Keanu Reeves), once a rebel against the mental enslavement by which a race of intelligent machines kept vast numbers of humans trapped in the simulated reality of the title so that, out in the concrete world, they could harvest the energy of their contentedly comatose prey, has been lulled back into submission and into a form of amnesia. 

St. Augustine said, “the sacraments are visible signs of an invisible reality.” The church, the body of Christ, is a living reality encompassing a variety of people, including children and adults who are emotionally, physically or mentally challenged.
